Rose City Cup

The Rose City Cup is an annual AYSO soccer tournament hosted by Region 13 in the Pasadena area.

The Rose City Cup is a single-elimination tournament for Region 13 fall teams, held at the end of the core season.

Format

Flights

Most divisions are split into “A” and “B” flights, with some offering a third “C” flight. Each flight operates as a separate single-elimination bracket.

Championship and consolation finals have extended halves with overtime provisions (two 5-minute periods) before penalty kicks if needed.

Tied Games

All bracket games tied at the end of regulation proceed immediately to penalty kicks.

Eligibility

Team Eligibility

All fall 10U-14U teams with sufficient referee points receive invitations.

Player Eligibility

Players must participate in at least 5 of 10 core season games to advance to Area 1C League Playoffs.

Playing Time

Every eligible team player present plays for 3 of 4 periods.

Advancement

  • A Flight champions advance to Area 1C League Playoffs as team 13B
  • Regular season champions qualify as team 13A

Referee Requirements

Teams must provide referees per the published schedule.
