AYSO Region 13 is part of the American Youth Soccer Organization, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN 95-6205398). We have provided youth soccer programs for players ages 4–19 in Pasadena, Altadena, La Cañada Flintridge, and surrounding communities since 1972.
AYSO’s mission is to develop and deliver quality youth soccer programs that promote a fun, family environment based on six core philosophies.

The Six Philosophies
1. Everyone Plays
Every player on every team plays at least 50% of every game. In Region 13’s Core Fall program, we aim for 75% playing time.
2. Balanced Teams
Teams are formed each season with equivalent skill levels through a blind draw process. This ensures competitive, enjoyable games for all players.
3. Open Registration
All children ages 4-18 are welcome to register. No tryouts, no cuts.
4. Positive Coaching
Coaches are trained to create supportive experiences through encouragement rather than criticism. We use the PIE approach: Positive, Instructional, and Encouraging.
5. Good Sportsmanship
We maintain a safe, fair, fun, and positive environment based on mutual respect — for teammates, opponents, coaches, referees, and families.
6. Player Development
We focus on developing individual and team skills progressively, helping players improve throughout their soccer experience.
