Check Back Saturday Morning… Rain is forecast for the weekend, so you’re probably wondering if soccer will happen. Our goal is always to play as many games as possible, but if fields are too soggy, we’ll make the official call to cancel games by 7am on Saturday.
If fields are dry enough to play early Saturday morning, but rain picks up enough to close fields later in the day, we will communicate any potential game cancellations.
Why wait so long? Because even with a high chance of rain, it may not be heavy enough to close the fields, so we want to wait as close as possible to our first kickoff times before deciding.
Will canceled games be made up? Unfortunately, no. Region 13 only has field permits for the dates already on our schedule, so we just don’t have enough playing fields to reschedule matches.
What About Picture Day? Picture day is ON, rain or shine. If your team is scheduled for picture day on this Saturday, October 31, please plan to be there.

Keep it Going into Winter There are lots of ways to keep playing soccer with friends after the Fall season:
This 8-week program offers skills training and small-sided games for players ages 6 and up on Sundays during the winter months. Designed to be casual and low-commitment, players are grouped by age and experience for small-sided scrimmage games. There are no permanent teams, and this program welcomes players of all skill levels.
Grad Series is for players transitioning from 8U to 10U. This program focuses on preparing for the changes that come in our competitive divisions, including larger fields, goalkeepers, and offside rules.
And finally, for advanced players in 10U, 12U, and 14U…
All-Star Tryouts are This Sunday at Rose Bowl Area H

⚠️ Parking Alerts: La Cañada Fields⚠️
|
If you have a game at Foothill Intermediate (FIS): Please park on Chevy Chase Drive or Cornishon Drive. Do not use the Community Center of La Cañada Flintridge parking lot. The Community Center runs Saturday morning programs for seniors, and its participants have not been able to find parking when AYSO families fill the lot.
Cars parked at the Community Center La Cañada may be cited and towed.
Restrooms are in the building next to FIS Upper and FIS Lower. The Community Center restrooms are not open to AYSO.
|
If you have a game at La Cañada LDS: Please park in the Mayor's Discovery Park lot next to the field. Do not park in the LDS Church lot or the YMCA lot. Both have asked AYSO families to stay out of their lots, and parking there puts our use of the field at risk.
If the lot is full, park on Foothill Boulevard or a side street.
Restrooms are in Mayor's Discovery Park.

Letter from the Commissioner
Hello everyone,
This is the time of the season that I start feeling a little melancholy: the end is approaching. Most divisions have three games left; our littlest kids only two. We are working hard to order trophies and year-end awards, and to plan for the Rose City Cup, our 10U-14U playoff tournament to be held on Dec 5-6.
However, the flip side of that is being able to watch how much our children have grown in two short months of soccer. Kids who had never played now know the rules and have scored a goal or two. Other kids have learned what it means to be part of a team and work together. Our parents and grandparents have learned the same. Our volunteers have spent endless hours making this happen, and even they have grown in their positions, achieving new levels of Coach and Referee skills. Our community has come together once again to create a soccer program which has produced hours of fun and memories for 2,500 kids. We have done it, thanks to you. So give yourself a pat on the back!
For those of you who are interested in more soccer, be sure to check out our website for our winter and spring programs: Winter Stars, Grad Series, All-Stars … we have lots of soccer available year-round now.
Finally, as thanks for reading this far, I have been given a dozen free tickets to Saturday afternoon’s home season-closer MLS game between the LA Galaxy and Austin FC. The game is at 2pm Saturday. Send me an e-mail at [email protected] and let me know how many tickets you would like. First come, first served!
See you out there on the fields tomorrow. Be sure to check the website at 7am tomorrow morning to make sure this weekend’s games are on!
