When Do Games Start? The new season is so close we can feel it! For high school-aged players, Week One of games is just a few weeks away. For everyone else participating in our Fall Core Season, teams are currently being finalized, and coaches are reaching out to families over the next week or two with everything you’ll need to know. Attending our big Region 13 Rollout will be the best way to prepare for the upcoming season—we’ll see you on August 29! 4U–14U Fall Season Games Start on Saturday, September 12 16U& 18U Upper Division Starts on Sunday, August 23

How Does My Kid Get Off the Waitlist?
With the weeks ticking down until the season kicks off, most of our divisions have waitlists. How can your child move off the waitlist and into the season? Serving as a volunteer!
Every grown-up who signs up to be a referee or coach means new teams can be formed and more kids will play soccer. You might be thinking to yourself, “I don’t know how to be a coach or ref!” Don’t worry—we have all the training you need to become fully certified, and there are plenty of experienced volunteers to help along the way.

Coach and Referee Training August is chock-full of opportunities to attend in-person courses that’ll get you all set to volunteer for the upcoming season. Region 13 is offering many referee trainings throughout August. Head over to the calendar to learn more. How Can I Help Off The Field?
We often express gratitude for the volunteer coaches and referees you see on the field each week, but there’s SO MUCH more that goes into making Region 13 go. It takes all kinds of talent to support our soccer league, and we have a place for everyone.

AYSO Region 13 is heading down to Carson to cheer on the hometown LA Galaxy take on the New England Revolution. There’s no better way to build our kids’ love of the game than by watching it played at the highest level, in an electric atmosphere, with friends and teammates. |
A limited number of tickets are available and will be given on a first-come, first-served basis. A selection of Region 13 players have the opportunity to participate in a pre-game on field experience. |

Letter from the Commissioner We are almost there! In less than a month, we will all be out on the soccer fields playing, cheering, coaching, and refereeing. Teams are being formed now, and families are starting to hear from their coaches. If you haven’t heard yet, don’t worry; it might be another week or so before all of the teams are set.
But before that can start, it’s training season! For the next several weeks, our coaches and referees will be taking a slew of classes to help make this season the best it can be for our kids. I want to thank everyone taking these classes as part of their volunteering for Region 13. Sometimes the number and length of these classes can seem overwhelming, but you should know that AYSO’s classes are widely regarded as some of the best in the soccer world. And guess what: the instructors are all volunteers too!
I’ll be teaching the 8U Official referee class again this year; I hope to see some of you there. I also hope to see all of you at the Rose City Rollout in a couple of weeks! As always, feel free to email me any questions or suggestions.
