WOW! The redesigned Region 13 website if finally here. It has taken over a year, from the initial discussions to the final launch. We hope you enjoy the new site and will use it to make your participation in Region 13 as easy as possible.
While we have tried to find and correct all typos and squash all bugs, it is inevitable that a few will slip through. If you find a typo or a feature that just doesn't seem to work right, please let our webmaster, Al Padley, know as soon as possible. He can be contacted at webmaster@ayso13.org .
The emphasis in our website redesign was on improving the ease of use of the website and in making information easier to locate. This was accomplished through the use of new web technologies that weren't available when the last version of the website was released. One area where you will see this is on the home page, where you will be able to read entire articles without having to go to a different page. You will also notice that only one news article is displayed at a time. Clicking on the title of an article, opens that article while simultaneously closing the other news articles. You will also find more use of tabbed interfaces to display just the information you want to see.
Also, don't forget about the search feature, now located at the top right of every page. It is now based on Google, which should result in more accurate search findings and more up-to-date indexing of our pages.
The one thing we haven't changed is the abundance of great information contained in the website. It's all still here and easier to find than ever. One of the great things about the Region 13 website is that it contains most of the information people need to have about the region. It is rarely necessary for someone to send an email question to a board member or the webmaster. This saves our volunteers a tremendous amount of time each year.
Finally, we aren't done yet. We are still rolling out improved parts of the website and we are constantly looking for ways to improve the website. Do you have a suggestion for an improvement? Is there a feature you'd like us to add? Perhaps there is something that is confusing or you just don't like. Please send your comments to Al Padley, webmaster@ayso13.org . Almost every feature or improvement added to the website over the years came from a user suggestion.

Hope you have had a great summer! As you were vacationing this summer, we have been working on a few things. I would like to bring your attention to a few numbers.
With summer coming to an end and another soccer season upon us, (our 37th season), we have completed the first step in playing, registration. Our Region 13 volunteers have worked diligently this spring and have been registering for nearly 50 hours on 8 different occasions and have registered nearly 3400 players and 1300 volunteers. As one of the largest regions in the United States, this is no small task. A heartfelt thank you to our Registrar, CVPA and their many volunteers, everyone in the region appreciates all the hard work.
This summer with all the information gathered we have formed more than 300 teams, with more than 600 coaches and assistant coaches as well as tried to identify 500+ referees. Every one of these volunteers will have been certified in their specific discipline and will have taken one or more of the 50+ classes taught by our volunteers annually. The development of these volunteers is vital to maintaining a quality program. Your children learn from these volunteers. Thank you to the ref and coaching staff for their hard work in completing their responsibilities as well as all of the instructors who spent more than 20 days teaching.
All of these volunteers have spent countless hours in preparing for the season and have done it for the most important number, the number your child wears on his or her jersey this coming season. Step up and thank them, any one of the volunteers you will meet throughout the year, more importantly become one of them, we need to add to those numbers.
